This Is Why We Write

Dustin: As we were asking God, “What direction do you want to take this project?”, I saw a picture in my head: A person holding the album in one hand, and a bottle of pills in the other…and this person choosing hope.

Amy: I didn’t realize how far I had gone until I started to withdraw from the drugs, and at that point, it was too late.

At that moment it hit me: five houses down, there is this drug that for seven years of my life has had control over me.

There was a war ragging within me, and I could not shake it.

I thought: “I need something right now.”

I then remembered that the Hope Is Here album had just released the day before.

I went into my room, locked the door, opened up the album and randomly picked a song.
I picked Faithful Forever.

The music began to play as I was taking a deep breath, and as Kristi began to sing, it was peace. The battle I was engaged in broke immediately. And I clung to every word in those lyrics.

It was what I needed to get through that moment in time.

Thank you for doing this because you are delivering hope and strength to people who desperately need it.

I don’t know what the outcome would have been for me had you not been faithful to what God called you to.
